Presentation

This new master's programme becomes relevant in a context characterized by technological progress, in Spain and beyond; by the need for constant innovation with regard to materials, construction techniques and management and development processes that must be present in every building project; and last but not least, in a framework in which concern for the environment and sustainability occupy a central place.

In the professional area, the programme prepares experts in different but complementary areas, such as project development, as well as intervention in rehabilitation and restoration works.

In the field of research, this programme responds to the need for experimentation in new techniques that are applied in the construction of buildings, in new technologies, new materials, complex installations, advances in the field of calculation and design of structures, development and innovation.

This master's degree is presented as a dual programme of 90 credits in which materials and subjects from the two programs that originate it are combined, giving rise to a study plan characterized by its comprehensive and flexible nature that ranges from new work to the intervention in already built spaces. The very configuration of the teaching plan, articulated in 90 credits and three semesters, allows flexible enrollment and personalized development by students.

Along with the above, this dual programme facilitates international mobility through agreements and conventions that the School of Building, which hosts the program, maintains with various foreign universities within the Erasmus+ and Magalhaes program, and agreements with European and Ibero-American Universities for exchange of students, including the Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza, the Politecnico di Bari, the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, the Università degli Studi di Palermo, the Università degli Studi di Catania, the University of Bialystok and several Latin American universities.

In addition, a programme made up of 3 semesters and 90 credits adapts to the needs of foreign students whose study visa is usually issued for a duration of 18 months.

Finally, the programme that we present gives the student two master's degrees, which represents, without a doubt, added value both academically and in an increasingly demanding labor market, and the possibility of expanding the field of professional development in areas ranging from the creation of a new work to intervention in historic buildings.
